Home-Start Guernsey is celebrating their amazing volunteers by saying thank you to them on International Volunteers Day.
Volunteers offer compassionate, non-judgemental support to local families on a wide range of issues from financial worries to bereavement, postnatal depression, isolation, coping with multiple births or just need a non-judgemental listening ear. They also help run Dragonflies our warm and welcoming toddler group; generously funded by the Sarah Groves Foundation.
Emma, Home-Start Manager said, “on International Volunteers Day we want to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers and let them know how important they are. We know what a difference their support makes to local families. Being a parent has never been easy; it can be lonely, frustrating, heart breaking and overwhelming. Life-changing events can happen to anyone. That is why Home-Start Guernsey staff and our team of volunteers are ready to stand alongside families when they need us the most.”
Jennie Mann, Head of Volunteering at Home-Start UK, said: “International Volunteers Day is the perfect opportunity to say thank you to our network of more than 10,000 Home-Start volunteers around the country. Our roots in communities mean we are well placed to support families facing challenges in their lives. We are extremely proud of the achievements of Home-Start Guernsey and the incredible work the expert staff and volunteers undertake in their local area.”
