Mother’s Day is an occasion which is celebrated in various parts of the world to express respect and love towards mothers. The day is an event to honour the contribution of mothers, acknowledge the efforts of maternal bonds and the role of mothers in our society.
This year, Home-Start have been fortunate enough to be The President of Guernsey’s Inner Wheel chosen charity. The president told us” It is a very special year for Inner Wheel as we are celebrating 100 years since the first club was formed. Each club has been set the challenge to find 100 ways to make a difference, our club decided to make 100 Pamper Baskets for the mothers of Home-Start families. We wanted the children of those who access Home-Start to be able to give a special gift on Mother’s Day. Our members really rose to the challenge and have been busy collecting items and packing baskets for several weeks.”
Home- Start manager Emma Cusack said, “we are overwhelmed with the generosity by the members and supporters of Inner Wheel. We know how easy it is for mothers to put themselves at the bottom of the priority list; so, this gesture will hopefully remind them of their value and worth.”
